With over 3 decades of practical experience, I have witnessed the growth of visual effects from the traditional special effects techniques through to the birth of today’s digital effects. I have an acute understanding of both approaches and sometimes their inevitable marriage. As an independent visual effects supervisor/producer, I work with the Production team to design the highest quality outcome for both script and budget.
The application of my visual effects approach remains focused on story enhancement and its subtle integration.
This work has taken me to the forefront of visual effects technologies, with many technical first including Motion Control, Key-screen, Motion Tracking and Motion Capture technologies.
I have extensive experience across many departments of the film making process, Special Effects, Production Design, Art Direction, Post Production, Producing & Directing which also aids my overall approach to my work.
From visual effects for feature films like, Fox Searchlight’s “The Marine” to more recent Tv series”Titanic Blood & Steel” & “Vikings” all receiving great reviews for their feature film qualities achieved on more modest television budgets.
“Camelot” received a Canadian Screen Award nomination for best Visual Effects 2013, 3 x “Emmy” nomination for “Vikings” Season’s 1, 2 & 3 for best visual effects 2013, 2014 & 2015.
